I'll give you a few examples of how I use the EO's on my two boys! I will keep this list short =)

  1. Every night, on their nightstands, I have a roller bottle full of Thieves I pre-made. Diluting the 2 year olds heavier than my 10 year olds. They stick out their little toes every evening before bed and I roll the bottoms of their feet in hopes to aide their immune system.
  2. When both boys come home from school, I diffuse Thieves blend in the diffuser ridding the air of the germs they may have brought in from the other kiddos! It is suggested Thieves kills 99% of airborne germs in 12 minutes.
  3. My eldest son uses a 'sleepy oil' blend consisting of Lavender and Cedarwood. He rolls it on his wrists and swipes down the sides of his neck before bed.
  4. If they are having sinus issues, one sweep of Lavender neat down the bridge of their nose!
  5. My eldest son uses the GeneYus Blend from the KidScents Collection to help him focus at school! I put a drop into his diffuser necklace and off he goes to class.

The list can go on and on and on!!! Follow me on Social Media to find out more! I am always full of fun uses and ideas!

Ohhh Baby Baby!

How I was dealing with my kiddos childhood issues before I discovered these oils is yet to be determined!? First and foremost, keep these oils out of children's reach. If they do come in contact with ingesting an oil, have them drink an oil-soluable liquid such as milk or half-and-half cream and call poison control immediately. A few drops should not harm, yet it is best to take precautions.

The biggest thing I can stress to you about using oils on children is to super dilute even the most gentlest oil until you know how your child reacts. Also, do not place your child in direct sunlight after using any citrus oils as it may cause them to burn. And ALWAYS try the oil on yourself before applying to them. Some oils are considered 'hot' and may need extra dilution.

Personal Choices:

Now, this is where some may agree or disagree or even agree to disagree! I personally would not use any EO's on an infant under four months old. This is a personal choice. You know your child and your family, so I can not speak for anyone but my own. And at four months old, I would start with one of YL's most gentle oil, Lavender (diluted). I suggest you start with a dilution ratio of one tablespoon of carrier oil to one drop of EO. That equals to about 30:1. I encourage you to do your own family's reading and research as there are not set 'rules' in using essential oils on children. Decide then what will best suit your families needs!

Kid Scents Collection!

This past year, Young Living created their own special KidScents Collection! This collection includes some that are already pre-diluted in the bottles, and the others are full of the gentler oils perfectly matched for our kiddos! How awesome is that? I actually own two kits so I do not run out! The first release of the kit sold out almost immediately it was so popular. Oh, and the Sniffle-Ease is worth its weight in Gold!
